Avalon College is a step-by-step program for learning astrology which has been developed by Cosmic Patterns, the developers of the Kepler astrology software package. Avalon College in its original form is included in the latest version of Kepler for Windows 95. This online adaptation of Avalon College is made available by the Online College of Astrology through a special arrangement with Cosmic Patterns and a special licensing arrangement with www.astrology.com.au
How Does Avalon College Work?
The current version of Avalon College consists of a structured series of 27 lessons in basic astrology. These lessons guide you from an understanding of elementary astrological and astronomical concepts through the entire range of chart interpretation: planets, zodiac signs, houses, aspects, and element/modality balance. When you have completed this program, you should have a thorough understanding of chart interpretation and be prepared to undertake more advanced studies in astrology.
Although a specific schedule of study (14 weeks for the entire course) is recommended in Avalon College, the program essentially allows you to proceed at your own pace. You may study on your own, or you may hire another astrologer or astrology teacher to supervise and guide you. (Hiring a teacher is an additional expense, of course, not included in the cost of the basic Avalon College program.)
Astrology.com.au plans to hold online group discussions with registered students shortly in the Chat Spheres at http://www.astrology.com.au/soul_connector/index.asp This will help facilitate the lessons and allow for group interaction between students and an experienced astrologer.

Technical Requirements for Avalon College
You can access Avalon College using virtually any modern Web browser. The only requirements are that your browser be capable of displaying graphics, that you have the graphics turned on, and that your browser can display frames. Graphics are used rather extensively in Avalon College to display chart wheels, aspect grids, and other illustrations. Frames are used to facilitate many of the quiz and review sections.
The Online College of Astrology strongly recommends Microsoft Internet Explorer for your best overall Web experience. We have found Internet Explorer to be much more stable, reliable, and consistent than other Web browsers.
